I've been lonely for so long...

This sign has sat in an empty, fenced-off lot for years. One wonders when the Act 250 Gods will let someone build something here. After all, it's not like we need jobs or anything, or tax revenue.

Look what I found in the food coop!

Hey, this is a great idea for a product line! Pot Brownie helper. This explains a lot about Brattleboro.

Look what I found on my neighbor's lawn!

Wow! I can just see Bush and Cheney shaking in their boots now! Seriously, this person is either from outer space or denied time at his momma's nipple, take your pick. Either way, someone does not understand how the impeachment process works to put up a sign like this on their front lawn.

And another thing about the Brattleboro Coop...

It's not exactly in keeping with the whole age of aquarius/hippy thing to see signs in the parking lot telling folks that only customer's can park there. You see these things all over the place. Not the most welcoming of parking facilities. There was sign up until recently that sat right where you drove up warning you of an expensive tow if you parked there and were not a customer!

Blogging from the Coop...

Now I appreciate the idea of "shopping local" and think it's a good idea in the main. The Brattleboro Food Coop likes local food too. The trouble is the Coop also buys it's merchandise from a lot of places outside of Brattleboro, like India and Australia for instance...

It's one thing to scream about "Eat Local" and then see a whole lot of merchandise from a lot of places beyond our local community.

Some people in Vermont don't like Walmart (progressives and liberals). They complain that Walmart does evil things and makes it's money from sweatshop labor in third world countries. Brattleboro is in close proximity to Hinsdale, New Hampshire (just over the bridge as a matter of fact), and there is a Walmart in Hinsdale. Now on any given day, one need only count the Vermont cars in the parking lot to get a sense that a lot of Vermonters like Walmart. But you would never know that from all the screaming and wailing on this side of the river (I shop at Walmart too and rather like them).

Now here is an Obama supporter doing guess what? Shopping at Walmart. WOW! I wonder why he would do that when there are plenty of stores on this side of the Connecticut just itching for that persons business. Webster's dictionary give this definition of the word, Hypocrite:

a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

Just to protect the innocent, the license numbers have been rubbed out to avoid hurting anyone's feelings and to protect their privacy. I do this to prove a point and not to hurt anyone, but the truth shall set you free.
