One picture is worth a thousand words.

Brattleboro likes to paint a picure of itself as "friendly" and compassionate town. I say hogwash. These are some of the lowlife scum who infect this town. Notice the nice jacket and new sneakers. Some idiot actually stopped and supplied this scum with money, thus compounding the problem. By the way, this photo was taken at the exit of Hanneford supermarket.

This is a commercial building with a busy little post office on the first floor. The office used to be rented by a "natural massuse" who could not make a go of it and left for greener pastures. The rent sign has been up for over a year and a half, with no takers. With such a wonderful business climate, who wonders why?

On a street with renovated houses, lies this place, abandoned for years. Brattleboro being such a paradise, I wonder why? High taxes perhaps?

Yes folks, this another in a series weird folks doing strange things in public in Brattleboro. This long haired refuge from the Retreat was sitting outside a very nice Thai restaurant letting his guinea pig eat the grass. What's the harm, you ask? Well imagine yourself eating in a very nice restaurant and spending $$$ for the privilege just to see this idiot and her oversized rodent pal right outside your window.

Brattleboro, a prosperous New England Town?

Let's not mention the empty stores, the declining school enrollments, the ever expanding taxes, and OH and yes, the panhandlers. This town USED to be prosperous, but not any more. What do have is more drug addicts, more human garbage from other places and a town full of slums downtown and very expensive real estate in the surrounding area. Not the most desirable of places to live. You want to see prosperity? Go across the river to New Hampshire.

I wonder if large groups also includes...

Came across this homeless-shelter-on-wheels in one of the municipal parking lots in town. The occupant looked to be having breakfast inside so I didn't feel like disturbing him. Funny the way all the cast-offs from other places all feel that Brattleboro is THE place to go, even in the ass end of winter. Judging by that laundry basket at the back of the "vehicle", he must've figured he do his laundry here too.
